Inspired by his father’s career as an entertainment photographer in the 1960’s, Samir decided to follow in his footsteps and pursue his own path in photography, starting by photographing gigs and fashion shows. After building a profile for himself, he began photographing smaller royal engagements, forging career-changing relationships with the Palace. He was then asked to shoot the engagement of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, an opportunity that would change his life forever.

I have a passion for taking photos of people. I shoot high profile subjects, so I love the challenge of trying to bring an element of humanity and relatability into my photos.

I've been a Nikon photographer since I started my professional photography journey in 2005. From the beginning, I felt at ease with their equipment and knew that I could rely on them to help produce the photos I wanted in any situation. I've always admired the quality of their lenses, which is why I have a big selection to choose from! The Z 9 is a particular favourite camera of mine, having used it to photograph everyone from the Duchess of Cambridge to Lady Gaga. It’s crucial that I have kit that won’t let me down.
